Social Emotional Wellbeing Services

Counselling Services

TAIHS employs both a Women’s Business and Men’s Business Counsellor.

Counselling services operate Monday to Friday from 8am-4:30pm please speak with your doctor, nurse or any TAIHS team member that you feel comfortable to request to see a counsellor.

Counselling services may be accessed face-to-face or via telephone support.

Counselling services include:

  • GP referrals to a psychologist or mental health clinician/counsellor 
  • Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator available for walk-in Ad Hoc counselling 
  • Confidential assessment, counselling and intervention
  • Referrals to internal and external support services within TAIHS
  • Referrals to link-up for family /Stolen Generation tracing

The Women of Wisdom gather together for yarn, laughter, to have a cuppa.

This group also yarns together about how to improve self-esteem, understanding the cycle of violence, dealing with stress and family support.

The group promotes togetherness and education and healing support from women in our community.

When: Fortnightly on Wednesdays

The Men's Group - Buddas in Arms

This group has a yarn about men's business and can link participants up with services.

The group promotes togetherness and education and healing support from men in our community.

When: Fortnightly on Wednesdays at 10am – 1.30pm

Where: 57-59 Gorden Street Garbutt, Qld 4814
