Experience and Expertise:

Peter Malouf was appointed to the role of the CEO of the Townsville Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health Services

Peter was previously the Executive Director of Operations of the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council for NSW at a time of reform change and pandemic response.

Prior that appointment, he was the Head of Indigenous Health at Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney and before, the Academic Lead at the Graduate School of Medicine at University of Wollongong and Honorary at the Australian Health Services Research Institute.

He also held executive positions with Metro North Hospital and Health Service, Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast PHN and Northern Queensland Primary Health Networks. Peter holds adjunct positions at University of Sydney and James Cook University.

Peter is a highly experienced health and academic leader with a track record of delivery in the health sector. Known for his strategic vision, strong relationships, inspirational leadership and commitment to exceptional patient centred- care and cultural safety, he demonstrates authentic leadership, and positions organisations for success by strategically assessing the environment and providing foresight to maximise impact and reputation.

Peter has a Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health and Tropical Medicine),  Master of Public Health, Bachelor of Health Science and Graduate Diploma of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

He is a Associate Fellow of Australasian College of Health Service Management
