The Transport Officer/COmmunity Driver provides safe, professional, courteous transportation and medical courier services for TAIHS clients as required. This position is also responsible for working in collaboration with the Facilities and Infrastructure team in regards to the general and mechanical maintenance of TAIHS vehicles.

  • Safe driving record
  • In depth understanding of the Queensland road rules
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Workplace Health and Safety risks and requirements associated with transporting passengers/clients
  • Ability to read and follow maps/GPS
  • Experience in transportation of clients or community groups (desirable)
  • Experience using handheld 2-way communication 

Required Licenses and Checks

  • Ability to pass a National Police Check – no Serious/Criminal/Court Records 
  • Current Blue Card (Queensland's Working with Children Check) 
  • Current Open C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) 
  • Minimum MR Licence (Qld)
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Current Queensland Drivers Authorisation (or must be willing to apply)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: It is a condition of employment for this position to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19

Proof of qualifications and current registration (as appropriate) are to be provided prior to commencement of employment.
